Design sprints are in. Second hand clothing exchange is in. In the most in-depth project I’ve been involved in, we created a vintage clothing exchange app over eight, week-long design sprints based on extensive user research.
Our process involved workshops and download sessions within our interdisciplinary team and with the client. Our methods were quantitative and qualitative user research, stakeholder interviews, a touchpoint audit against competitors, user journey breakpoint mapping, experience principles, a classic 5 – day design sprint workshop with the client (gv.com/sprint/), concepts and wireframes, live user testing and design reviews.
My responsibilities
- A colleague and I used the knowledge we gained from our Psychology degrees to create a mixed methods questionnaire, and carried it out with users of the existing app.
- We analysed the results using Microsoft Excel and presented the data visualisation of our findings to the client during the design sprint.
- I carried out a user experience audit on the existing touchpoints and competitors, defined the three key user journeys and mapped out experience breakpoints.
- I collected the insights from the empathy mapping section of the design sprint into engaging personas and presented them to my colleagues
